Welcome CT2.pdf

Welcome to my website!

Here, I will share some of the things I am learning in 8th-grade science. In the paragraph, our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did were a microscopy lab, cicada lab, Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, water quality testing, and a wonder journal.

My favorite was the Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge. It was so much fun to do, we got to use Spheros and our own materials to build our own armor thing for the Sphero was to be able to grab cups, the group with the most cups wins.

Update for October, November, & December.

October, November, and December have been pretty full of fun projects. Nothing was too difficult but it was all kind of challenging. I would say that the seismic safe building was the most fun, but I really liked the stop motion video on plate tectonics. I really liked the stop motion video mostly because of how it turned out. It looked really cool. I think that I could grow in the less hands-on project by putting all my effort into the project even though it may not be exactly what I wanted.

Update for January, Feburary, and March

We did quite a bit in these past months, my favorites definitely stick out. I really liked the Van de graff generator, I liked being able to shock people. I also thoroughly enjoyed the magnet stations, I thought it was really cool to see how they worked and the different ways you could use them. My third favorite had to be the stream table, I thought it was fun to see the way erosion takes its course.

Updates for April and May

These months we did a lot, like my favorite, the frogbit project. We got to build a mechanism powered by the sphero, and we had to pick up mats of frogbit. We also did a bunch of other things, such as the water quality infographic,  the chickenology lab, the punnet squares, alien genetics gizmo, mitosis and meiosis, evidence for evolution, and the rock pocket mouse project. Overall April and May were very fun.

Final thoughts on 8th grade school year

8th grade science was fun, we had lots of projects and most of them were fun. What I enjoyed the most was probably the frog bit, it was fun to make and test. My least favorite had to be every time we took notes, I found it very boring. I would like to do more engineering challenges in the future.
