Welcome to my science website

Here, I will share some of the things that I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were the Wonder Journals, Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, microscopy lab, using iPads, and water testing.

My favorite activitie was the HHS challenge because I got to see the diffrent thing that I can build with my partner Lilly.

Update for October,November,& December

This is my window display for Transform boundaries. I enjoyed having to go through the whole process of using the cricket and seeing what others designed. The one main thing that Miss Lacrosse and I thought about was using a scraper to get rid of all the air bubbles.  However, I think using the scraper was the best way to have fewer bubbles and put the stickers on the window display. It helped a lot to make my project look better.

Update for Jaunary,Febuary, and March

One thing that I did was the paper ball launcher we were patner up and I was partners with Kyra. We struggle alot in the begining and we wernt sure how it was going to work. We can up with a bunch of ideas but none of them seemed to work. We tested it out many times but it was an epic fail.I dont think this was one of my strongest project. Next we did several experiments with magnets. I really enjoyed watching the diffrent things magnets can attract to. One thing I did not know was if you break a magnet it just turns into two. Lastly we did an experiment with a can and a ballon I thought it was vey intresting that when you put paper on the ground and get an postive ballon neer it the paper will start dancing.

Updates for April and May

During April and May, I was paired up with Lilly Smith. We had to create something that would take the frogbit to the side of the pool. For our motor, we used two gizmos with zip ties around it and styrofoam for the base also with toothpicks so the frogbit would get tangled in it. Our project was a success and Mrs Lacrosse said it was the best out of our whole class. I was surprised that our project could actually move! This was one of my favorite projects because I was patnered with Lilly and we think of many ideas that will eventually work out.

Final thoughts on 8th grade year

During 8th grade year I enjoyed doing all of the projects and getting to experiment new things. One thing i didnt enjoy was all of the test we had to take. Something that I would like to learn about science is where  all of the water came from.
