Welcome Page

Welcome Aidan Tuttle.pdf

Welcome to my science website!

Here, I will share some of the things that I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were microscopy lab, a wonder journal, water testing, a cicada lab, and the hungry sphero challenge.

My favorite was the hungry sphero challenge, because you got to build a project with friends and test/battle with it.

Update for October, November, & December.

There were many great projects that we did the past three months. One of my favorite activities/projects was when we did the building activity to make a structure that could withstand an Earthquake. One reason I liked this project was I got to work with Korde and we did really well together and withstood the Earthquake with our structure. Another reason I enjoyed this project was I enjoy building things with friends and testing them, and I hope we do more just like this throughout the year. Finally out of all the projects /activities we´ve done my favorite was the Earthquake building project.

Updates for January, Feburary, and March.

We used the van DE graaf generator which is a generator that converts energy into static electricity and when held/griped it will negatively charge you. I was shocked when it continued to work even with more than two people as long as you were touching them. Phet sims were also something I enjoyed doing. These were simulations where you could create your own circuits whether they were a series or parallel they could have been whatever you wanted. The stream table was one of my favorite and this consisted of a table with miny physical features that could represent real world erosion and weathering by adding water to these materials.

Updates for April and May

Throughout April and may we accomplished many projects and studies that were very fascinating.  These projects included Frogbit notes and project, water quality infographic project, chickenology lab, punnet square practice questions, alien genetics gizmo, mitosis and meiosis learning, evidence for evolution stations, and rock pocket mouse project.

8th Grade Recap

I enjoyed the Earthquake building project and I least enjoyed the sketch notes. In the future I would like to learn more about life science and they way things are created.
