Welcome to my science website

Here I will share some of the things I am learning in 8th grade science

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were Wonder Journals, Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, microscopy lab, using iPads, water testing.

My favorite was the Hungry Hungry Sphero because we were competing and got to work with other people.

Update for October, November, and December

These past few months have been filled with exciting adventures. I have enjoyed learning about Plate Tectonics and how they move. I enjoyed doing hands-on projects like the SSB Lab. We had to make a building that could survive an earthquake. I also really enjoyed learning about the Earth's age. It was interesting to see where all the real living things came from. Plus seeing the Earth's formation was cool to watch. It went from a solar nebula gradually forming to what we have now. I definitely think that my mind will still grow in science and I will continue to enjoy what we learn about.

Updates for January, February, March

These past few months have been filled with new and exciting things. My class went on a zoom call with Dr. Noviello about planetary erosion. It was fun learning about planetary erosion because it's interesting to see that other planets also have erosion. I worked on a book creator about electricity and magnetism and did magnet stations. The magnet stations consisted of seeing what magnets were stronger.

Updates for April and May

With these past few months I have been doing some fun activities. One of my favorite activities was our Rock Pocket Mouse Project. I enjoyed doing it because I learned something new about animals. My other favorite thing that I did was the punnett squares. I found it fun because it was an easy way to see what the offsprings of two animals would look like.

Final Thoughts on 8th Grade Science

My final thoughts about my 8th grade science are that I enjoyed this year and that I will miss my teacher. I enjoyed her class so much and I learned many new things and hope to use them in the near future. I found a lot of the stuff that I learned useful.
