1) What should I do if I decide I would like to pursue counseling at HCC?
Contact HCC at admin@huntersvillecounselingcenter.com, and we will connect you with a therapist who can support you along your journey.
2) Is counseling confidential?
Counseling is confidential except under these circumstances: you want to harm yourself or someone else or there is a report of child abuse/neglect, elder abuse/neglect, or abuse of a physically or mentally disabled person.
3) How do I choose which counselor is best for me?
Everyone has their personal preference. An initial consultation via phone or email will help match you with the counselor that best meets your needs.
4) How often will we meet, and how long will therapy last?
It is important to know your availability and the time commitment and therefore these will depend on your situation and presenting issue. Your therapist will be able to have an open discussion with you as well regarding these topics.
5) What can I expect to happen in my session and what will the process look like?
In therapy progress can take time and is often a journey. Some sessions can be highly structured while others may not be. You may have an open discussion with you therapist about how you would like your journey to proceed.
