Term 2
Term 2
The end of module two always marks the upcoming end of the calendar year and brings the excitement of a new year up ahead. It is also a time to reflect on the many challenges and successes of the previous year, as well as often making resolutions for what you wish to be different in the coming year.
2023 has been a year of great success for our academy and its students. We have completed the extension to the primary academy and welcomed, for the first time, two new classes of children into year R; facilitated superb learning and academic success from all our students; witnessed pupils develop personally and show selflessness and maturity far beyond their years; seen staff members flourish and become even more fantastic in their roles and seen our parental community, including our fantastic PTA, come together to enrich the opportnities that children at Hundred of Hoo Primary receive.
To say I am proud of our community would be an understatement and I would like to take this opportunity to send my genuine thanks and gratitude for your support in making our school the exceptional place it is.
This year has also brought challenges, but we have reamined resolute in seeing each of these as an opportunity for our school to learn, grow and remain a place which truly ensures that children become "more than just educated".
I am sure that 2024 will bring just as much success, joy and valuable learning opportunities for children, parents and staff and can't wait to see the incredible progress that is sure to be made.
I wish you all a very peaceful break and look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.
This year we have enjoyed watching the very festive Christmas performances which all year groups have worked incredibly hard to put together. When watching our marvellous pupils perform, it could be easy to forget that these natvities and concerts take hours of preparation both at home and in school, and it would be remiss to not recognise the courage it takes to stand up in front of a room full of adults and perform so eloquently and confidently.
Our youngest pupils in Year R pupils performed the fantastic "Fairytale Land Nativity Show", Years 1 and 2 gave a wonderful performance of "A Midwife Crisis" with no less than three midwives (and three donkeys called Steve!) and our Key Stage 2 pupils certainly got us in the festive mood with their Christmas choral extravaganza in the exam hall.
Thank you so much for joining us for these events and we look forward to inviting you back into school next module for more parent and carer engagement afternoons.
We are excited to share with you some significant developments at the Primary Academy that will positively impact our community. In response to the growing demand for quality education in our area, we are expanding to a two-form entry year group in year 1 from the 15th January 2024. Miss Hamandishe, who has been working in the school since the start of this module, will become the teacher of our new Year 1 class.
This expansion not only reflects the success and popularity of our current educational programs but also our commitment to supporting the local authority in meeting the increasing needs of families in our community. The agreed request to grow our school is a testament to our dedication to providing the best possible learning environment for children in Hoo. With this expansion, we aim to maintain our high standards of education while accommodating more students and fostering a vibrant and inclusive community. We look forward to the continued support and partnership of our parents as we embark on this exciting journey of growth and enrichment for our school.
