Term 5
Term 5
It seems almost impossible that we have reached the end of module 5 and are well and truly into the summer term. As you will see from the Digital Floorbooks in the other sections of this bulletin, there has been some truly amazing learning taking place across the whole of the academy and covering the breadth of all of the curriculum subjects.
What is possibly even more impressive is that in years three to six, subject ambassadors have been responsible completing the written content and selecting photographs to go onto the floorbook. If your child is a subject ambassador, they should be able to talk to you about all of the fantastic learning for their curriculum area.
Whilst we know that school is not all about exams and outcomes, I think it is important to recognise the incredible efforts of our year 2 and year 6 pupils who have recently completed their SATs tests.
Many of you will have seen the recent press surrounding this year's statutory tests and I would just like to share how incredibly resilient and positive our pupils have been. I think it is also important to share that whilst these tests help us to capture progress in core subjects, they do not capture all of the other incredible learning and progress that our children make both academically and personally.
I, and the rest of the team, am so proud of all of the children who attend Hundred of Hoo Primary and know that they will continue to make us proud as we move into module 6.
Having sat in a progress update yesterday, I am pleased to announce that the expansion project is still very much on-track to be complete, ready for our new two-form Reception cohort in September.
The internal walls have now been erected, underfloor heating installed and the screeding (cement covering) for the floors is starting to be laid today!
There will be some disruption to the hard-standing area during the next module as this will have to be converted into carparking in order to provide the future capacity for staff vehicles required. I have been working on revised pick-up arrangements and will share these with you in due course.
On Tuesday night this week, we held our PTA AGM and elected new committee members for the posts of Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. I would like to thank the twenty parents, carers and staff members who were able to join us on the evening as well as the previous PTA members who have shown such excellent support over the past two years.
If you were unable to attend the meeting, but still wish to lend a hand, I know that the PTA will be incredibly grateful for any offers of support!
I am aware that the new chair, Michelle Lingham, is in the process of putting together some correspondence for all parents so watch this space!
