Curriculum Pages
Some parents have recently shared that they were unaware that there were multiple pages to the Primary Bulletin! in the top left corner, when viewing on a mobile device, there are three small lines. If you click on these, you will be able to find the Online safety page, attendance page, PYP page, Curriculum pages, Star of the Week and Reminders.
Whilst all of this information should be useful, our Digital Floorbooks show a real insight into what your child has been learning about in school so far this year and since module 5 of last year. These are working documents which are regularly updated with pictures, examples of work and videos and would be an excellent place to be able to start talking to your children about what they have learnt in school!
You can go directly to these pages by clicking here!
Theme of the Fortnight
The Theme of the Fortnight for the first two weeks of Module 4 has focussed on 'My Identity'. Through our assembly we have spoken about how identity is made up of a range of different factors including protected characteristics such as age, religion and gender, your interests and hobbies, your viewpoints and your beliefs.
We likened every person to a snowflake, where we all have things in common (every snowflake is built around 6 spokes) but every single one of them is unique.
We also looked at a poem called "Identity Stew" which you can see below.
Identity Stew: Celebrating YOU!
Gather:
Curiosity's spark, creativity's dash,
Brave heart, honesty's flash,
Compassion's warmth, patience's grace,
Humour's tickle, dreams to chase.
Special Pinch:
Your unique talent, shine it bright!
Friendship's sprinkle, share the light!
Secret Spices:
Heritage's whisper, beliefs held dear,
Family's love, close and near,
Gender's truth, let it unfold,
Abilities unique, stories untold,
Age's wisdom, lessons learned.
Simmer:
Kindness and respect, let flavours blend,
This is your stew; a great person and friend.
Serve warm:
With a smile, let the world see, The amazing "you," wild and free!
The Theme of the Fortnight for weeks 3 and 4 of this module is: Books are a journey for your mind!
This fits in perfectly with World Book Day which takes place on Thursday 7th March!
Playground Arrangements
As mentioned in the letter shared with parents regarding the playground, we have implemented our new structure from this week. Pupils have really enjoyed being creative in the new section created, have been using the lovely new benches provided by our marvellous PTA and have engaged really well with the adult-led games on the rest of the playground.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to those parents who have kindly offered to donate resources for pupils to use in this area and am really excited to continue to see this grow.
If you do have any of the following resources that you would be willing to donate to the school, it would be hugely appreciated.
