The Certificate for Online Instructor at Humboldt International University (HIU) prepares faculty to effectively design, deliver, and assess learning in virtual environments. The program includes five modules covering the fundamentals of virtual learning environments, curricular and instructional design, application of educational technologies, effective and engaging online teaching, and assessment of learning in VLE. This program supports the development of high-quality, student-centered, and competency-based online instruction.
The Academic Dean LMS provides access to a comprehensive set of online courses designed to support faculty development and academic excellence. Through this platform, instructors engage in structured training focused on virtual learning environments, instructional design, educational technologies, and assessment strategies. These courses are aligned with institutional standards and promote high-quality, student-centered, and competency-based online instruction.
Participation in these courses is required, as faculty members must complete a minimum of 8 Continuing Training Units (CTUs) per year, with each course granting 4 CTUs. This requirement ensures continuous professional growth and alignment with institutional quality standards.
