The research done in the BERL couldn't be done without our team of student researchers (or "science muffins" as we like to call them). Each year we welcome new students into the lab, where they are able to engage in research activities and social activities with their fellow lab mates. We welcome anyone with an interest in social neuroscience! Please read the relevant information below to find out how to join the BERL.

Prospective Research Assistants

Research assistants (RAs) are very important to the success of our lab and may contribute to many different aspects of the research process. In the BERL, RAs can contribute by assisting with study design, data collection, data analysis, literature searches, and assistance with conference presentations.

Our lab accommodates RA’s schedules with all levels of time commitments, but all RAs are required to attend our weekly lab meeting. It is possible to receive PSYC 495 units for being an RA.

Prospective Graduate Students

Dr Hahn supervises Master's and blended students admitted to the Academic Research graduate program in Psychology under both the neuroscience and social psychology specialization areas. Although specific research interests may vary, incoming students typically have an interest in responses to facial cues, affective neuroscience, and/or hormonal factors influencing social behavior.

If you are interested in completing a Master's degree under the supervision of Dr Hahn, please do the following:

Read Dr Hahn's recent publications to ensure your research interests fit within the lab research program.
Check the HSU Psychology Department's website for details regarding the admissions process
Email Dr Hahn directly to express your interest in joining the lab and confirm that she is accepting new graduate students
