Arcata is a scenic 5 hour drive north of the Bay Area on US-101, or 3 hours west of I-5 from Redding.
The California Redwood Coast, Humboldt County Airport (ACV) is only a 10-15 minute drive from the Cal Poly Humboldt Campus and is served by United Airlines from San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX) and Denver (DEN). Avelo Airlines provides service from Burbank (BUR).
The Redwood Transit System offers bus service from the Airport to Arcata, Eureka, and many other locations in Humboldt County. The Arcata & Mad River Transit System provides service throughout Arcata, including connecting the university to the hotel area. All routes run on weekdays, while the Orange Route also runs on Saturday.
