Flute

The flute is a woodwind instrument that produces sound when air is blown across an opening. 

The flute is one of the earliest instruments still in existence. The oldest flute ever discovered can be traced to prehistoric times, dating more than 40,000 years ago! 

The flute is one of the two instruments in a band requiring the most breath to play. The other is the big tuba! 

The flute is known for its beautiful, clear sound and ability to play very fast, making it a popular instrument in both orchestras and solo performances.
