Each middle school and elementary school in Humble ISD is allowed a team of 3-6 students to bring to the district competition.
Team sponsors are responsible for arranging parent permission and transportation for team members to and from the competition.
Each team must have a team name and create a poster displaying that name. Posters will be taped to each team’s table on the day of the event to identify the team to the judges. Posters should be legible and large enough to read at the front of the room.
“Uniforms” are not required, but teams are encouraged to display school and team spirit!
The Books
Twelve titles are chosen from the current Texas Lone Star List, Texas Bluebonnet Award List, Texas Maverick List, Texas Topaz List, and ProjectLIT book list.
See the list of books on each page: Middle School Books and Elementary School Books.
Questions
Questions will come from the 12 books chosen. Questions may be multiple choice, short answer, true/false, identifying a quote, or identifying a book. Questions may come from the body of the book, illustrations, glossary, author notes, or any other information provided by the author.
