Voice lessons are the best way for each singer to get to know his or her own voice and develop it to it's potential. Atascocita High School has a staff of fabulous private voice instructors for all levels and abilities. Lessons are held at AHS unless the voice teacher has a separate location (ex. home, private studio, etc.). Marisa Cano
Marisa Cano
Marissa Cano, Soprano, graduated from the University of North Texas, where she earned her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance. Throughout her time there, Marissa's passion for music and steadfastness to her craft were evident, showcased through her Opera performances as the "Caterpillar" in The Cunning Little Vixen and the "Footman" in Le testament de la tante Caroline. Notably, Marissa was involved in the esteemed University of North Texas A Capella Choir, directed by Dr. Allen Hightower.
Beyond her own artistic journey, Marissa has dedicated two years to sharing her expertise as a private teacher, nurturing the development of emerging vocal talents, and has taught choirs in New Caney ISD as a long-term substitute. After many leadership roles at many different churches, she accepted a position as the soprano section leader and soloist at Atascocita United Methodist Church, where her voice and knowledge enriched both the church choir and the children's choir. Excitingly, Marissa's journey continues as she joins the prestigious Houston Symphony Chorus this 2023-2024 season, showcasing her dedication to musical excellence.
