On alternate years, brass players from the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (both institutions which Chris attended) can apply for a significant amount of money. This money is ideally going to help towards purchasing a new instrument or vital equipment which might be holding back the student in some way. It is an unexpected bonus that past award winners have also been extremely nice people who have, in turn, gone on to raise money for the trust in their own ways.
