Absences & Tardies
Please call the front desk at (303) 783-0137 if your student will be absent or late. If a student is not at school by 8:45, Laura will begin calling parents regarding absences.
Communication

A weekly school-wide newsletter will be sent out on Fridays throughout the school year. You can view archived newsletters here.
Progress Updates:
You will receive weekly or bi-weekly emails from each teacher with progress updates on your student and their classes.
Report Cards:
You will receive a quarterly report card with your student's grades as well as a detailed summary of the quarter and their progress. Conferences happen after the end of Quarters 1 and 3.

Pick-up and Drop-off
Students may be dropped off as early as 7:45 AM and should enter through the front door.
Late arrivals must sign in at the front office.
If your child will be late or absent, please call the front desk at 303-783-0137.
School ends at 2:50 PM. All students must be picked up by 3:00 PM unless they are participating in an after school activity, in which case, they must be picked up at the end of the session.
All students should be picked up in the lower parking lot, entrance off of Yale Ave. The front lot is reserved for district drivers and scheduled meetings.
Please be aware of students walking across the parking lot and your fellow families when entering and exiting. Thank you!
Food and Drink
Pizza Friday:
Each Friday students may order a 1-topping medium pizza from Black Jack for $7 (2-toppings is $8 and Gluten Free is $10) to be delivered at lunch. Students will place orders and pay (CASH ONLY PLEASE) as they arrive on Friday mornings at the front desk.
Birthday Treats:
This year, Humanex will be providing birthday treats once per quarter to celebrate the birthdays from the previous months. We will be sure to accommodate all dietary restrictions. Please let us know if there are any allergies or restrictions that we need to be aware of. Please do not send in additional birthday treats as this can be challenging to manage. Thank you!
Food Delivery:
You are welcome to have lunch delivered via food delivery services for your child, but the order needs to be placed by you or by the student before the first bell rings and have it scheduled to arrive by noon. Please use the Humanex address and note delivery to the front desk.
Humanex will close if two of the four major districts close including Jeffco, Cherry Creek, Denver Public Schools, and Douglas County OR if a large number of small districts/private schools in our area are closing.
Closures are posted on news sites, social media, as well as our website AND you will receive an email as well as an update via the Remind app. However, parents are always the authority on travel in inclement weather, so please choose what is best for your student and your travel situation.
Please note that if a snow day is called it will be an actual snow day with no virtual instruction taking place.
