FAQ

I will keep updating this as we get more questions from families and students.

 When will rehearsals be?

We will be meeting after school from 3-5 in the LGI. For each rehearsal, I will list on the calendar who needs to come and what time rehearsal will end. ALL STUDENTS will need to come every day the two weeks before the show. These rehearsals will go later then the others.

What are our COVID precautions?

Clear masks will be provided for students who wish to use one.

Will 8th graders get priority for roles?

No, all students have an equal chance of getting a speaking role.

Will 8th graders get priority for officers?

Yes, only 8th graders who participated in Drama Club last year will be allowed to run for office.

How will you get in contact with families?

We will send out a weekly email update letting families know how things are going and what you can do to help. You will find this message through the ParentSquare system either through the app or your preferred method of contact. This is the same system that sends emails from Mrs. Roethel and Mr. Bowen. If you are not getting messages from me weekly, please let me know.

Information will be posted on this site and updated regularly. Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Graber through the ParentSquare message feature.

How will auditions work?

The scripts/singing samples for the audition will be posted on our google classroom ASAP. Students can do their audition memorized or read from their paper. An audition information session will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd. On this day, Mrs. Graber will go over what we are looking for and do a demonstration. Auditions will take place on Wednesday, January 3rd. Call backs will take place on Thursday, January 4th and/or 5th as needed. The cast list will be posted that weekend.

Will everyone who wants to participate be in the show?

We will do our best to include everyone who wants to participate but need to see what the interest looks like in terms of the number of students before we commit to this.

Sports

Can I play sports and also do Drama Club? If you are playing Volleyball or Boys Basketball, you will have enough time to participate in Drama. If you are planning to play Girls Basketball, Boys Volleyball, or Wrestling, you will not have enough time in your schedule to dedicate to Drama Club.

Other Conflicts

What if I have another club meeting or extra help?

You should attend that meeting if it is during the Tuesday/Thursday 3-3:30 time slot. You should attend extra help if you'd like to go.  Please let your director know where you are and do what you have to do.

While we try and accommodate students' interests, please keep in mind that participating in this club is a commitment. If you have too many other conflicts, it will hurt the production and your role may need to be reconsidered.

You MUST ATTEND the FULL SESSIONS for the weeks of March 4th and March 11th. These are the last two weeks before the show and it is impossible to work around people's schedules at this point. We need everyone available. I will shorten or cancel rehearsals as appropriate to keep everyone relaxed and rested headed up to the show.
