I wanted to use our website to touch base with parents and guardians about Physical Education as we begin the year. To start, my name is Cory Eller and I have been teaching adapted and k-5 physical education in Hudson for the last 11 years. I have taught at all of the building in the district in the past and have been able to learn from many great teachers. I am beyond excited to be teaching this year at Hudson Prairie and hope to share that excitement with our students.
I do want to make sure I address a few of the main Covid 19 related issues in relationship to physical education. The district phy. ed. team has been working together to come up with safe and meaningful curriculum, strategies, and routines to help keep the gym safe.
First I want to make sure that we are having class outside as much as possible. Masks will be optional but encouraged when outside and we will continue to use physical distancing strategies. Many games and activities that have been done in the past may not be possible at this point but we are going to use strategies to try to stay as close to our normal curriculum as possible. This means the focus will be more on skill development than large group or team games.
Masks will be required when in the gym. When inside we will focus heavily on flexibility and strength rather than cardiovascular activities. Cardiovascular exercises will not be done for extended durations when inside. We will learn about our bodies response to exercise when inside and incorporate those lessons into what our body feels like when exercising. Students will be given the freedom to perform what is comfortable for them and not required to exercise with a mask on.
Cleaning procedures will include students sanitizing hands before and after class. Sanitizing will also happen throughout the class if needed. Equipment that is shared will be sanitized and or switched out for new equipment between classes. This will likely limit the equipment we are going to be able to use in class.
I am looking forward to the year and excited to begin meeting everyone. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or just to say hi.

To Students, Parents, and Guardians
I wanted to say "Hi" and introduce myself. My name is Morgan WIlson and this will be my first year teaching. I graduated in December of 2019 from UW- River Falls. I loved River Falls and the Hudson area while I was in college, so i am so excited to be in Hudson teaching!
Below you will be able to find the activities the Elementary PE team has created from you at home. Please click on the link that corresponds with your grade level. and try the activities for about 20 mins. You will be able to find this also on Google Classroom. I also encourage students to be active outside by going for bike rides, walks, playing outside, going to the park, etc.
Remember to always TRY. This may be difficult or you may not understand an activity but at least try your best!
If you have any questions, ,concerns, or just want to say hi, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Stay Safe,
Ms. Wilson
