House League

House Council is made up of the Student Leaders YOU ELECT and WE RECRUIT during the start-of-year House Meetings. They help organize everything from Homecoming Week and the Pep Rally, to the House Olympic Games, Spirit Weeks, and so much more! They basically make the fun happen around here!

House Council leaders are elected in the early Fall of each school year. If you're interested in joining, make sure to nominate yourself for election during the year's first House meetings. 

Not interested in being a House Leader but still have some great ideas or want to help out? You can reach out to your House Leaders, as we're always looking for new projects!

You don't have to be a House Leader to help out with events and activities. Let us know you're interested in helping or running something! We're all ears!

POINT CATEGORIES AND VALUES

Below are most of the possible point values and how to earn them. Occasionally, a teacher might award discretionary points for an outstanding or unique occurrence.

HOUSE EVENTS

Points are awarded for placing during House events, such as the House Olympic Games (HOGS), or during the events of Homecoming Week, Frost Week, or Spring Fever.

1st Place House Event 40 points

2nd Place House Event 30 points

3rd Place House Event 20 points

4th Place House Event 10 points

ATHLETICS

Points may be awarded for intramural pickup games, scrimmages, or even for participation in a Hudson sports team.

Intramural Sports Victories 25 points

Athletics 15 points

ACADEMIC & BEHAVIOURAL AWARDS

Awarded for exemplary, sustained, or improved academic and/or behavioural performance in class.

Honour Roll 50 points

Academics 15 points

Behaviour 15 points

SCHOOL CITIZENSHIP

Awarded for being a model Hudson citizen.

School Spirit 50 points

For participation in school events, encouraging greater participation of their peers, and cheering
one-another on

Community Outreach 50 points

For exemplary volunteer work and service in, around, and beyond Hudson.

Club Participation 15 points

For consistent participation in, or creation of, a club.

Citizenship 50 points

For being an excellent role model, including work as a Student Ambassador or Mentor, to new,
        returning, and younger students at Hudson.

DISCRETIONARY POINTS

For an outstanding or unique occurrence that proves difficult to define, but deserves merit none-the-less.

Discretionary Points 5–25 points

Each month, two gift card prizes are awarded. 

• The first is to the top earner for the month.

• The second is raffled off live on the announcements, and anyone who has earned House Points that month can win.

At the end of the year, the top two point earners from each House will win cash prizes!

• $100 to the topmost point earner in the House

• $50 to second point earner from the top in each House
