With inflation and the increased cost of living, Toronto is seeing more people than ever before accessing food banks and other social services to help ensure they have enough to eat. As the holidays approach, this need may be felt more than any other time of the year for so many who call this city home.
To help, Hudson College's Upper & Lower Schools will be doing a food drive in support of Daily Bread Food Bank from December 2nd-6th. Starting December 2nd, boxes will be located in the front foyer where students may place their non-perishable food donations.
As a bonus, the Upper School’s House Council will be running a raffle for students who bring in items for the drive!
TO PARTICIPATE:
Students bring their donation to one of the House Council representatives stationed in the front foyer, who will give them a ticket
Students write their full name and class on their raffle ticket, and place it in the raffle box located in the front foyer
UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS: Make sure to get a raffle ticket in the colour of your house, as every donation made will count towards your House Points!
LOWER SCHOOL STUDENTS: If you want to help a particular House out, you can ask for a specific colour of ticket! You’ll help a House earn points, and help upset the balance a little ;) Let’s see if Rockies (the purple House) can hold onto that lead!
At the end of the week, the raffle will be held over the school announcements, where the winners of each prize will be announced!
Students can earn one ticket per day
This year, we’ll be raffling off 3 beautiful, hand-made Hudson huskies, to some lucky students, alongside two other surprises!
