Attention Juniors and Seniors who are interested in applying to the National Honor Society for the 2025-2026 school year. (If you were inducted into NHS your Junior year, you do NOT need to apply again – you’re already in!)
Here are the basic requirements:
Scholarship:
Students must have at least a four-semester (after sophomore year) or a six-semester (after junior year) 3.750 cumulative grade point average.
Service:
Prior to the application due date of 9/15/25, students must have at least 15 hours of documented service in order to apply to NHS. Any service hours earned dating back to May 1st of freshman year count. Service hours include any unpaid service for a NON PROFIT organization such as a school, hospital, national organization, etc. (Babysitting younger siblings or doing chores for family at home does not count.) Also, please note that mission trip hours count a maximum of 8 hours/day. Similarly, overnight camp counselor jobs count a maximum of 8 hours/day.
Please track your service hours in SchooLinks. All hours will need to be approved by the adult in charge of the activity/organization and your school counselor.
Important Upcoming Dates:
Friday, 8/29/24: Online applications will be sent to your school email(<student#>@hudson.k12.oh.us) if you meet the GPA requirement.
Monday, 9/15/25: at 3:30 pm: Online applications are due!
Friday, 9/26/25: Applicants and their parents are notified via email whether or not the applicant was accepted into NHS.
Monday, 10/8/25: at 7:00 pm: NHS Induction Ceremony.
