Hello Lincoln Families,
It is time to officially connect, engage & move forward! We want to ensure your child is supported through our Continuity of Learning plan and that your needs for academic & social emotional support are being met over the next several weeks.
Our goal is to keep this as simple as possible. We will be using the ClassDojo to connect students to their teachers and communicate academic support, share questions, student work, successes and highlights as we move through grade level curriculum.
Please ensure you are connected to your child’s teacher via ClassDojo. If you are not connected you can email, your teacher or reach out to Mrs. Cheney or myself (our contact info is at the bottom of these instructions).
When you are logged into ClassDojo, your child will receive video lessons centered around English Language Arts (ELA) & math. Some classes may move forward with other subject areas however, ELA & math is our primary focus. Teachers will post their video lesson every Monday. They will then share follow up activities to go along with their lessons. They will be available to support students as they move through the lessons with any needs they may have. Please communicate these needs and academic progress your child makes weekly with your teacher.
There is also a School Story portion in Classdojo. This may show up on your dojo as Lincoln Elementary or under Mrs. Jent. Under this section the following teachers will post video lessons as well for your child to engage in weekly. You can also post progress your child makes in the same thread the teacher posts the video in. The timeline for these instructional videos are listed below:
Monday: Classroom teacher: instructional videos and ongoing support Mon-Fri via Class Story.
Mrs. McCaulley ELA Reading Support videos via School Story
Tuesday: Mrs. Arredondo Art class instructional video via School Story
Wednesday: Mrs. Roberts Music instructional video via School Story
Thursday: Mrs. Godfrey, Physical Education video instructional via School Story
Friday: Mrs. Cheney, Social Emotional Learning instructional video via School Story
Again our goal is to keep things as simple as we can while doing our best to support your child while continuing to learn at home. Please feel free to reach out if you are having issues connecting.
We will be connecting our learning each week during Lincoln’s FacTime Live events every Friday. We will go LIVE every Friday at 4:00 pm instead of 7:00 pm. I will share highlights from our weekly learning events! I cannot wait to see the wonderful connections between teachers & students!
We look forward to launching our learning remotely! We know together we can make this the best experience for all students. Even though we cannot be close in the classroom we can still stay connected through technology! I am thankful for all of your support and partnerships as we move through this together.
Sincerely,
Mrs. K. Jent
