PRIVACY POLICY
AI Calorie Scanner & Tracker (“the App”) by Hubrivex LLC · Effective August 28, 2026
We built the App so that your personal data stays with you. There are no accounts, no email addresses and no passwords — and we designed the service so that we could not identify you even if we wanted to.
THE SHORT VERSION
• No account is ever created. The App identifies your install with a random identifier that contains nothing about you.
• Your food diary lives on your device. Meals, photos, water, weight, streaks and your profile are stored locally on your iPhone (and shared only with the App's own widgets and Watch app on your devices).
• Meal photos are analyzed, not kept. A photo you scan is sent to our server, forwarded to an AI vision service for nutrition analysis, and the result is returned. We do not store your photos on our servers.
• We do not sell data, show ads, or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
DATA WE PROCESS
Device identifier. On first launch the App generates a random identifier (a UUID) stored in your device keychain. It is not derived from you or your hardware and cannot be linked to your identity by us. It accompanies requests to our server so we can apply per-device rate limits, and it serves as the anonymous customer id for subscriptions.
Meal photos and food descriptions. When you scan a meal, the photo (or the text you typed) is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to an AI vision provider solely to produce the nutrition analysis. The photo is processed in memory and is not persisted on our servers. A copy of the photo is saved on your device for your own history. Please avoid including people or sensitive documents in meal photos.
Barcodes. When you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is looked up against the public Open Food Facts database via our server. Barcode numbers identify products, not people.
Health and profile data. Your goals, height, weight, water intake, meal history and streaks are stored on your device. If you grant Apple Health access, nutrition and water data is read from and written to Apple Health under Apple's HealthKit rules; health data is never sent to our servers.
Groups (optional). If you create or join a shared tracking group, we store on our server: the group name, the display name you choose, and daily summary stats (calories eaten, calorie target, streak). Your device identifier is kept server-side only and is never shown to other group members. Leave a group at any time to stop sharing; you can also email us to have group records deleted.
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Our subscription partner (AppActor) receives App Store purchase receipts tied to the anonymous device identifier so your Pro access can be restored. We never see your name, payment details or Apple ID.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
• No selling or renting of data — to anyone, ever.
• No advertising networks, no cross-app tracking, no fingerprinting.
• No collection of your name, email, phone number, contacts or precise location.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because your diary is stored on your device, deleting the App deletes your data. Server-side we retain only rate-limit counters (cleared daily), optional group records, and anonymous subscription records required for purchase restoration. To delete group data, email us with your group code.
SERVICE PROVIDERS
• AI vision provider — processes meal photos/descriptions to return a nutrition analysis.
• Open Food Facts — public database used for barcode lookups.
• Apple — payment processing (App Store) and, if enabled by you, Apple Health.
• AppActor — anonymous subscription management.
• Our servers are hosted in the European Union.
YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Since we hold no data that identifies you, most rights are exercised simply by managing the App on your device; for anything server-side (such as group records), contact us and we will act on it promptly. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA.
CHILDREN
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly process their data.
NUTRITION DISCLAIMER
Calorie and nutrition estimates are produced by AI or public databases and may be inaccurate. The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Consult a professional before making decisions about diet or health.
CHANGES
If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted in the App.
