Mattayom 1 - 3 EP students absolutely enjoyed the camp which was held on the 19th - 22nd of November last year at Pavilion Rim Kwai Hotel in Kanchanaburi.
The camp aims to give the students a chance not only to have fun, but to practice their English and enjoy adventures with friends as well. The camp encompasses a combination of plenty of engaging English activities, Science challenges, and team building fun. They focus mainly on improving the students' conversation skills. For the night activity, the EP students were motivated to take part in a competitive "Talent Show" either individually or by group to build their strong sense of self-esteem in the absence of academic competition. In addition, the students also get pleasure from spending time with their teachers and camp staff throughout the whole day participating in cool activities such as games, swimming, and sightseeing trips.
The activities were designed perfectly to suit the age and skill level of our EP students and were delivered by the passionate LEC staff headed by their camp master, Mr. Faroh.
Indeed, the camp did not only give us an amazing experience, but surely was also an effective way for our EP students to learn and use English.
OPEN HOUSE 2020
Hua Hin School English Program students once again took pride when they participated and obtained numerous awards in one of the prominent academic events in Thailand, Open House Competition 2020. Hua Hin School representatives showed their full extent in bagging the awards for the Math and Science Projects, Impromptu Speech, higher-level - Skit, Story Telling, Spelling Bee, Singing Competition, and lower-level - Multi-skills. Thus having a total number of sixteen awards, thirteen gold, two silver and one bronze, led them in getting top 2 in an overall rank out of twelve schools.
I.S. Presentation 2020
Grade 8 and 11 students were divided into groups and were motivated to come up with I.S. project based on the group’s ideas and information searched. They were given enough amount of time to conduct a research, write a written report, make a brochure, display board and check if the project model functions flawlessly as expected. The presentation was held last 24th of February in the EP Building and was judged in a friendly and professional manner by the EP teachers. Each group was given roughly 3 minutes to present their projects and was asked several questions to check students’ knowledge of the project. Amazingly, the groups participated and made great efforts to incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in their projects which resulted in awesome ideas such as Solar Power Farm, Save the World by Green Roof, Human Power Washer, Water Filter by PVC Pipe, A House Powered by Wind and Solar Energy, Hand Tech and Coin Sorting Machine amongst all others. The event’s aim is to encourage and accustom the EP students to compete fiercely in a non-competitive environment with each other; to showcase their skills and apply the theories they learned in the class in interesting ways. It also provides them an opportunity to work in collaborative settings, to exchange ideas and hone their research techniques with like-minded peers. By and large, the English Program is delighted to have provided our students such an enriching experience.
