On March 8th, Ariana Grande released her 7th studio album named Eternal Sunshine, with lyrics inspired by her personal life and experiences. It is composed of pop and contemporary R&B style songs, with subtle string and synth elements. In a recording, Ariana describes Eternal Sunshine as "kind of a concept album" consisting of "different heightened pieces of the same story, of the same experience". She explains that the album spans from "really vulnerable" songs to playful tracks which portray her being "what people kind of expect me to be sometimes and having fun with it".
The single from this album, “Yes, And?”, was released back in January on the 12th. The song immediately exploded with popularity, the day it came out it had 13.1 million streams, and also debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 as her eighth number-one song in the United States! This beat her last debut record with “Seven Rings”, which had approximately 12.2 million streams the first day. The second hit single from this album is titled, “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, which accumulated around 5.6 million Spotify streams on day 1 of its release!
To top it all off, Eternal Sunshine was her 6th Number 1 album on the Billboard 200! What an achievement! Overall, Ariana Grande continues to wow us all the time with her unique talents in music, and we can’t wait to see what she decides to release next!
