The Hamilton Ice Hockey Team finished their season 7-13-1, but their record didn’t reflect the success of some of the individual players on the team’s roster. Steinert was well-represented, and two of their most successful players this year will be back for the 2024-25 campaign.
One player who won’t be back, and will surely be missed is Ashton Truelove who scored 18 goals along with 17 assists for 35 points this season. He was a four year varsity letter winner, and team captain this year. His career totals were 40 goals and 40 assists for 80 total points. His unselfish play and leadership will be tough to replace next season.
Offensive powerhouse Zach Meseroll will be back next season to add to his impressive career totals for points. This season he had a league leading 32 goals and 18 assists for 50 points. This allowed him to hit the career 100 point mark on the season.
Goaltender Mason Caruso is only a junior, and will return to the net next season as well. He hit an incredible milestone reaching 1000 career saves this season. Mason wished he had a few wins this year, but overall is very proud and humble about his accomplishment.
“When I started my career in goal, I never thought this would happen. I am very proud of myself, but I also need to thank my teammates and coaches for all of the support along the way. Without them, it never could have happened. My goal for senior year is to remain consistent in my overall play and hopefully for the team to have an even more successful season than this one.”
