After a tremendous fall season, two young teams have stood out and made their mark in their respective programs. The JV Boys soccer team and freshman football team have both ended their seasons with undefeated records, for the first time in many years.
Ending with a final record of 13-0-2, the JV boys soccer team had an extremely successful season. Throughout the 15 games played, the boys only let in 1 goal, which is a tremendous achievement. Their coach, Mr. Hover, owed the success of the team to the players. He said, “From the first day of practice, they worked tirelessly to ensure we would be as successful as possible. Each player made key contributions that allowed for continued success throughout the season”.
Not only did the JV boys soccer team have an outstanding season, but so did the freshman football team. Ending their season with a record of 6-0, the team ended with their first undefeated season in 20 years! Coach Panfili expressed how talented the group of freshmen were, “I am extremely proud of all of our players who put forth all of the hard work to achieve such an impressive accomplishment”. Not only the players, but the group of coaches, Coach Doherty, Coach James "Coach Will", and Coach Stromberg "Coach Stromby” all contributed to this amazing season. Coach Panfili is very excited to see what the future holds for this group of athletes.
As the fall season comes to an end, all Spartans should be very excited for the winter and spring seasons, as we have very talented teams and individuals. As well, the future of these teams and other programs are looking bright as the young athletes are stepping up to the occasion!
