Hey Spartans! The New “Wakanda Forever: Black Panther” movie is finally out and here’s my take on it!
If you haven’t watched the previous “Black Panther” movie, here’s a recap! T’challa’s father passed away and left his son to take care of the kingdom as a rightful heir. However, he faces a powerful opponent who challenges him for his throne. T’challa then feels the pressure because he has to not only fight for his power, but also protect the people and kingdom of Wakanda. To do this, he has to dive deeper into himself and learn his full power being the powerful Black Panther. Moving onto the newly released movie, the royal family and their close family and friends fight to protect Wakanda after they are faced with T’challa’s unexpected death. Other nations have mistaken their mourning for vulnerability, but the Wakandans remain firm in their strength, doing anything they can to peacefully grow into their new path of life.
Out of the many beautiful scenes put into this movie, one that stood out to me the most was one of the first few scenes. It had been revealed that the Black Panther' passed away, and the people were met with grief. In response, they honored him with a traditional Wakandan departing. All of Wakanda was present in beautiful and stylish white clothing, with nicely done hair and makeup. They were saddened to see their Black Panther go, but celebrated his life. They performed a cultural dance and song in celebration of his life, which was so heart touching. This was a scene I favored most because it just brought so much goodness to my heart. The vibes all around just felt like I myself was included in this huge heartfelt family the Wakandans had. The sad tone of Black Panther's death relieved of their beautiful and joyful celebration induced so much serotonin for me.
The people behind this movie did an amazing job honoring Chadwick Boseman. Boseman, who played the original Black Panther character in this movie series, unfortunately passed away from colon cancer during the year of 2020. His death hurt millions and he is deeply missed. Marvel honored his death by crafting the cultural death departing scene as mentioned before. When sending the Black Panther off in his casket in the movie, it eventually faded out into the classic marvel logo. This logo was spelled out with pictures, videos, and memories of Chadwick Boseman. It then continued on for a minute or two of some more touching clips. It was a classy way to honor this wonderful human and was both sincere and beautiful. May Chadwick rest in peace.
This was just a small glimpse into this wonderful movie, I truly recommend it to anyone who loves excitement, action, and family vibes in any type of cinema.
