The GSA club, or Gay-Straight Aliance, works to create and promote a safe space for LGBTQ+ students. During their meetings, students discuss their own experiences as LGBTQ+ members and brainstorm ways to better the environment at Steinert. For instance, during Solidarity Week, the club members made rainbow ribbon pins for the faculty and staff. The GSA also occasionally announces important events or people relating to LGBTQ+ history over the announcements. Anyone interested in joining the club or attending the next meeting can follow @steinert_gsa on Instagram or contact Ms. Acquaviva and Ms. Park.
The official mock trial workbook has been released, marking the start of this year’s mock trial season. Unlike last year’s criminal case, this year’s edition centers around a civil case. Should an energy drink company be held responsible for the death of a minor? Come to mock trial and argue your point as an attorney. If you’re more into drama or acting, come act as a witness and play the role of a grump grandpa or distraught businessman.
