Meredith Furiga was a Grade 2 Catechist

Meredith Furiga served Holy Trinity Parish as a catechist from 2013 /14 to 2018/2019 teaching Grade 2/First Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation.

Meredith was a stellar example of the impact a catechist can have on the life and faith formation of a child.

She also modelled by her living example a patient, loving attentiveness as she willingly helped out wherever needed.

Meredith was a wonderful and unassuming person who loved her Faith so much she wanted to share it with others, especially children.

We remember her dedicated service and thank God she was such a gift to us.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

From the DRE

Winter weather is just around the corner. Please make sure the kids are wearing coats. It is helpful to have your child's name written on a tag inside the coat or jacket so we can make sure it gets back to you if it gets lost at PSR.

Father Misenko is hearing confessions, one grade level per week. Please review the Sacrament with your children, how to go to confession, and above all, take them to confession on a Saturday at 4 PM on a regular basis.

Thank you to all our volunteers who help to make our PSR classes possible: Shirley Zalac (Admin/Nurse), Tracy Smith (1), Anna Shaw (2A), Lauren Wilson (2B), Joanne McKee Gargano (3), Colleen Pepple (4), Christopher Gouch (5), Nick Macina (6), Ron Sapochak, (7), Lisa Leemans and Sandi Harsa (8).

Without our volunteers catechists and staff, we could not have PSR classes.

What is FBC? How do you do it?

Family Based Catechesis (FBC) is the most flexible option for religious education. When it is rooted in Regular Mass attendance, faith formation in the home is then nourished by the source of our Faith and there is continuity between what is taught and what is lived.

Parents establish a day and time each week for guiding their child through one chapter in the textbook. Let the PSR calendar be your guide, each Monday class and the chapter covered is listed there.

Digital resources available through Flourish (below right) supplement the textbook. There are no tests. It takes about a half hour.

When a chapter is completed, parents record the completion using the green house icon (below left). Each family's progress will be monitored using the online Record of Completion form (green house icon/link below).

FBC PARENTS, in the past I have had in-person check in's with parents. In light of COVID-19 it is not possible for us to meet in person as we have in the past. The alternative is Zoom. I will schedule Zoom office hours for a date and time to be determined.

Parents are encouraged to contact the DRE throughout the year.

Your child's User Name is after this pattern: First.Last

(Insert your child's first name, first letter is capitalized, then a "dot" and their last name, first letter is capitalized. No spaces in between.

The Password is: holytrinity

The PIN is: 44011B

If you have any difficulty logging in, please contact me by email and I can look into the situation for you.

Please record the most recent chapter completed using the house icon/link above.

Please complete one (1) chapter per week, including Feasts and Seasons chapters from the back of the book where appropriate throughout the liturgical year.

If you forget to record the chapter one week, you may record the most recent chapter completed.

Use the Religious Ed Calendar as your guide, each Monday is numbered.
