You may have noticed on the timetables that Wednesday’s have been blocked off as Wellness Wednesdays. This exciting initiative supports our commitment to the development of our students' academic, social-emotional, spiritual, creative and physical well-being.
What is Wellness Wednesday?
Classes are not scheduled but it is a day of learning day and our staff are working
Teachers can use this day to schedule conversations with students or time to support them and their learning
Its purpose is to help create flexibility for faculty and students
Students can reach out to staff for extra help
The Student Life team, Father Crowther and the Student Success team will all be providing extra programming options
There are no Homeroom Huddles on Wednesday
K-12 Student Success coaches and the K-6 literacy coach will hold one-on-one meetings with students to provide academic support as they navigate independence
Family Online Safety Institute: Good Digital Parenting While Staying at Home
While learning from home, students are no longer protected by our firewall and virus software. Please check your family’s firewall to identify boundaries and restrictions on what students can access on the internet. Here are some resources:
OpenDNS family filter. You can set this up easily on your computer or on your router to help block all sorts of content. There is also a paid version with more features.
Malwarebytes malware scanner. The free version is good for cleaning up and regular maintenance — paying for the upgraded version that proactively monitors is good as well.
Common sense media provides great resources for parents, students and educators to keep students safe, protect them from cyberbullying, navigating screen time, etc.
