Bring Your CRS Rice Bowls to Holy Thursday Services

Look for the basket near the front entrance to drop off your CRS Rice Bowl donations on Holy Thursday. And if you happen to leave it at home, you can drop it off in the parish house during office hours. Thank you for your generosity in helping to meet the needs of others.

Thank You for Making Our Mountain of TP!

Thank you to everyone who brought in donations of toilet paper for United Crescent Hill Ministries. Our neighbors who are struggling financially will be grateful for your generosity, and our friends at UCHM are ecstatic.

Results from the CLOUT Nehemiah Action Assembly

More than 900 people attended the CLOUT Nehemiah Action Assembly last Monday, April 7 to seek commitments from our public officials on a number of initiatives. Here is a brief summary of the meeting's outcomes:

Children & Youth Concerns

JCPS Board of Education member Gail Logan Strange agreed to advocate with the new superintendent to keep the current reading curriculum, which is showing progress on improving reading proficiency for all students. She also committed to set a priority for the new superintendent to fully implement an adolescent reading model to help older students make progress in literacy and reading skills.

Community Safety & Equity

Mayor Craig Greenburg committed to following through on the LMPD reforms outlined in the U.S. Department of Justice consent decree, to hire a qualified monitor to oversee implementation and compliance with the decree, and to allocate funding for the monitor in the 2025-26 metro budget. He also agreed to engaging public review of hiring the monitor and to establishing a citizen review committee.

Mental Health

Dr. Elizabeth McKune of Seven Counties Services agreed to establish a 24/7 drop-in crisis stabilization center by January 2026 and to prioritize expanding this service to youth and families.

Metro Council Member Shameka Parrish-Wright agreed to support funding for crisis stabilization if it is in the Mayor's budget or to advocate for funding for this initiative if it is not the Mayor's budget.
