English as a New Language

English as a Second Language (k-12)

Hello! I would like to introduce myself to the international families of the Hunter-Tannersville school district.

My name is Corinne Cohen and I teach English as a Second Language. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Spanish from the University of Montpellier, France.

As a national of France I moved to the United States in 1989. I lived in New York City for twelve years and worked at the United Nations as a Public Information Assistant before moving to the Hudson Valley in 2001. This international experience gave me an understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. It also inspired me to study Teaching English as a Second Language. I obtained my Master’s Degree in TESOL from SUNY New Paltz in 2012 and subsequently my NYS certification. I started teaching at Hunter-Tannersville in 2013.
