Dear Students and Families,
Congratulations on completing your freshman year! I hope you take some time to relax, recharge, and reflect on how far you’ve come. As you look ahead to your sophomore year, I’m excited to welcome you into CHS Chemistry!
To help you start strong, I’ve put together some summer preparation work designed to support your transition into chemistry. It will introduce you to key concepts that we will be exploring in the fall. These summer assignments will be posted by June 13, 2025 and should be completed by the start of next school year.
In order to get started, you will need to join my Google Classroom (Classroom Code: q3ex3dld). On Google classroom, you will find the assignments that you are expected to complete. Please don’t worry – there will only be 2 or 3 short assignments to complete, so please relax and enjoy your summer.
Some of the assignments will be EdPuzzle videos. In order to access EdPuzzle, you will need to sign in with your Hampton Google credentials. All of the necessary links will be posted to Google Classroom so that you can access the EdPuzzle videos.
I know that some students would rather complete the assignments now and “get them out of the way”, but I would encourage you to complete these assignments closer to the start of next school year so that the material is fresh in your mind. Additionally, if you’d like to get a head start learning the ions and their charges, I have the ion sheet posted on my Google Classroom. By mid-September, you will need to be proficient in recalling these ions for in class activities and assessments.
I’m looking forward to getting to know each of you as we explore the world of chemistry together.
Have a good summer,
Mr. Adamczyk
