HCMS STEAM Team

Purpose

We are a multi-disciplinary STEAM competition team of 6th, 7th and 8th graders from Hampton Cove Middle School in Huntsville, Alabama. We compete in 5 major events: Future City, FTC Robotics, Greenpower F24 Racing, Science Olympiad and Technology Student Association. Our goal is to provide positive STEAM experiences to as many students as possible, and gain a strong foundation of science and technology skills for the future.

We love Science - Technology - Engineering - Art - and Mathematics

What we've done

In the 2023-24 school year, we earned the Top Middle School award for Alabama Technology Student Association. Moving up to the TSA Nationals Conference over the summer, we had a chance to meet the student candidates for National leadership, competed in a whopping 18 events, won 5 semifinalist, 1 finalist and a first place trophy (Medical Technology).

We earned the Motivate award at the FTC Robotics Alabama State Championship, and qualified for the first time to race in the Greenpower F24 National Championship Races at Talladega Superspeedway. We are excited to recruit new members for another great year in 2024-2025!

TSA Nationals In Review

See some pictures from our 3rd delegation to the National Technology Student Association Leadership Conference last June. We met every candidate for National TSA Officer, traded pins with delegates from all over the globe, and met people who inspire us to build our knowledge.
