Reddie Virtual STEAM Academy Q & A
Will the lessons from the STEAM Academy last the entire school year?
Yes, the academy has many modules in each course that will provide enough STEAM experiences to last an entire school year.
How often do I have to teach the academy lessons?
In the past three years, teachers have taught these courses daily as part of a technology, STEM, or other "elective" course. These can be taught as part of a specialty course, and we recommend teaching the content at least 2.5 hours per week.
How much does this cost?
The academy is provided through a previous grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to all fifth through eighth-grade teachers. However, there are requirements including supporting Henderson State University's pre-service teachers and technology support from your district.
