Hour of Code

Hueneme Elementary School District

What is Hour of Code? So glad you asked!

Hour of Code refers to a movement aimed to expose all students to coding. The idea is that every teacher takes an hour at some point during the month of December to allow their students to experience the world of computer science. But you can start before that! What are you waiting for?

Every school should teach Computer Science!

But what if you don't know anything about coding?

That's okay! Many teachers don't (yet). That is why so many websites support Hour of Code. They create the activities so you can learn along side your students. Look at the top of this webpage, for additional information. You may choose to let your students work on these task independently, as partners, or complete a quest as a class.

But don't feel like you need to be an expert to start. It is actually BETTER if you aren't. Model perseverance and problem solving with your students!

Okay, I'll try it! Where should I start?
