What did last year's edcampHESD participants have to say?
It is hard to believe that this was Hueneme's first EdCamp! It was FABULOUS! I loved the sessions I attended. I am hoping to implement Failure Friday this year. The raffles were fun and it was neat that everyone walked away with something! You all ROCK!
EdcampHESD were friendly, inviting, and well prepared. The whole day was wonderful! Met new friends and reconnected with old friends. Thanks for making it a wonderful day!
This was one of the best, if not the best, workshops that I have ever attended. That is saying a lot, because I am obsessed with attending workshops. I loved how collaborative it was. I loved meeting teachers from other districts. I loved laughing at the fun we were having. I just LOVED everything about it. Well done!!!
I really enjoyed edcamp and all the efforts that the committee put in toward making it run so smoothly and successfully. I came away inspired and with many good ideas. I love how it naturally led to making new connections with colleagues across grade levels, even across districts.
What would you say to someone thinking about attending an edcamp?
Come! It's fun, and do it yourself professional development. Also, Hueneme will treat you right with pancakes, cookies and lots of raffles. Plus you can order a cool shirt.
It's a great way to see what is out there and discuss with others strategies and tools that can be used in the classroom. There was a great sense of support for each other and I enjoyed that.
This is a great way to use time to enhance your classroom practices. You can learn about new ideas or extend ideas. It's professional growth at your own pace, if you want to dive into something, EdCamp gives you the chance to get your feet wet.

It's the most fun and productive time you can imagine - energetic colleagues, good food and prizes, too!
