Here at Hillsboro R-3, we recognize all students and that our gifted and talented students think a little differently. It's all in how their brain works and find that each area has some very unique skills. Our goal is to assist our students in understanding themselves, the world around around them, and meeting their individual unique needs.

From DESE:
Gifted and talented students require a unique academic environment to meet their learning needs so they can make continuous progress. They need
curriculum that will challenge them in all classroom settings;
enrichment;
accelerated learning opportunities; and
appropriate social and emotional support.
Gifted learners need services provided by well-trained teachers, who challenge and support them, in order to fully develop their gifts and talents.
By participating in gifted education programs, these learners can develop skills to help them positively shape and impact the world.
