Below you will find assignments and Powerpoints for our different assignments. They are also listed in Infinite Campus where you will see points for each and due dates. Rubric


1) Students will create a zentangle. They will follow instructions and examples shown in class to fill a sheet of paper using full color and imaginative "doodles". Please look at examples online, fill the page, and leave NO WHITE!

2) Students will create a mock-up on paper with oil pastels of multicolored blends, hard & soft edges and the elements of art and principles of design. Emphasis on odd number of spaces/shapes/textures/themes/SIMPLE subjects with a VIOLATE or overlap as described in Powerpoint assignment. The purpose is to prepare create a decorative and simple painting for assignment 3 that is aesthetically pleasing while learning brushes and mediums. Please watch the EDGES, ELEMENTS, and MULTICOLORED BLEND slides 1st.

3) Students will create a decorative painting according to the Powerpoint on Decorative Painting above. All is explained.

4) Students will select an image of high contrast to use to copy to find and demonstrate hard, soft, implied, and broken edges while placing correct values of light and dark. They need to consider true lighting on the rounded form as they do this. Use the Contrasting Value Drawing Powerpoint please.

5) Students will "fill in the blanks" on matching but different sized pictures as a right brained exercise that introduces them to drawing. They will complete one LINE drawing of choice and one VALUE (shading) drawing of choice from the examples that they can print from the Powerpoint, Fill in the Blanks, below.

6) Using the Elements of Art & Principles of Design students will draw, paint, or create a piece using the Powerpoint, As You Wish Piece, below. This is a culminating project to show what they know for a summative grade. It will be graded by the rubric on this site.
