I graduated from Northwest High School in 2001. I then attended Jefferson College, where I earned my Associate of Arts degree, with a major in Liberal Arts. After receiving my degree, I transferred to Missouri Baptist University, where I graduated in 2008. While there, I earned a Bachelors of Science in Education degree and received certifications in Elementary Education and Cross-Categorical Special Education. In 2015, I graduated from Missouri Baptist University with my Masters of Arts in Teaching.
This is my sixteenth year teaching (wow, how the years have flown!), all of which have been here at Hillsboro, and I LOVE this district! I feel like we are all part of a family. I greatly enjoy teaching students writing, and I am hoping for us to do lots of that this year! I also love Social Studies. It is probably one of my favorite subjects!
Some other things about me:
* I love owls. That will be pretty noticeable once you see our classroom!
* I have been known to use music quite a bit in the classroom, both with and without lyrics. We listen to a lot of classical instrumental music during work time, study hall, and tests.
* I love animals, so my family has three cats: Romeo and Inny and two basset hounds: Bella and Cupcake.
*Favorite Drink: coffee (hot or iced) or unsweet iced tea
*Favorite Sweet: Anything chocolate!
*Favorite Places to Shop: Amazon, Walmart, Lane Bryant (I love to shop sales!)
