ESL/EFL

NOW ENROLLING FOR SPRING 2022

HSC offers English as a Second or Foreign Language for non-native English speakers ages 12 and up. We work with American students as well as international students at any English level. Our ESL and EFL program is customized to students' needs and will build students' Basic Interpersonal Communication Skills (BICS) and Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP). The development of BICS allows students to communicate in most informal and social settings proficiently while CALP allows a more advanced comprehension of English suitable for advanced scholarly study. We will build students' language skills by a variety of means and will make regular assessment of student development.
