Numbers and shapes can be found everywhere. Help your child explore mathematics in your environment:
Ask your child to look for numbers and shapes in your home (e.g. clocks, house numbers, keypads, license plates).
Look for collections of objects in your house (e.g. rocks/gems, clothes pins, buttons, animal figures, toys) and count "how many".
Have fun cooking, measuring and counting by using the Welcome to Kindergarten Cookbook with your child.

You can engage your child in fun early math learning at home with these activities:
Simon Says. Try incorporating math words (e.g. above, below, over, under, through) or give directions that include numbers (e.g. hop on one foot five times, go half-way to the door and come back).
Bedtime Math: This app sends parents a fun, new math problem every day, on everything from electric eels and chocolate chips to roller coasters and flamingoes. It's targeted for ages 3 to 9. Check it out!
