As February is upon us and the second semester has begun, I'm excited to share some upcoming events and important dates happening at BMS! We have a busy and enriching month planned, filled with opportunities for students, families, and our school community to connect and engage.
Mark Your Calendars for Parent-Teacher Conferences:

Parent-teacher conferences are a crucial time to discuss your child's progress, set goals for the rest of the year, and answer any questions you may have. We encourage all parents to schedule a conference with their child's teachers. Sign-up will be available in the upcoming weeks, and I will send another communication with those details. Don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office if you have any questions about scheduling.

Sincerely,
Ryan Crete, Principal
One aspect of our PBIS program at BMS is acknowledging positive behaviors that embody at least one aspect of our SOAR acronym (be Safe, Own it, Act responsibly, be Respectful). Students receive SOAR tickets and are entered into a weekly drawing for recognition and small prizes. At the start of December, we began to also acknowledge students with "golden tickets" (like American Idol) who consistently demonstrate SOAR’ing behavior. These golden ticket nominations can be given by any staff member. Thanks to generous donations from Meijer, Jet’s Pizza and Hudsonville Lanes, we are able to honor these students with some bigger prizes and additional recognition.
The following students have been recognized with golden tickets since the start of January:
Brooks Hoover
Adelyn Dekker
Grayson VanderBrink
Austin Noble
Graham Johnson
Adalynn Stukey
Jorja Straub
Camille Pirlot
Thank you to these students for making BMS a better place and our amazing sponsors, Meijer, Jet’s Pizza and Hudsonville Lanes.
Winter 2 Sports are underway so please check the website for the latest schedules and stop out to see a Basketball Game, Swim Meet, or Wrestling Match.
Spring Sports will begin the week of March 18 so please make sure your athlete has their forms and payments turned in if they are considering Girl's Soccer, Boys Tennis, or Coed Track and Field.
February 7 - 8th grade Orientation at HHS (you should have received an invitation from the HS office)
February 15/16 - Course Selection for 2024-2025 in 7th grade Social Studies classrooms
*These course selection forms must be completed and returned by February 23.
April 11 - PSAT 8
*Make-Ups April 15 - April 19
April 15 - 8th grade M-Step starts
April 22 - 7th grade MStep starts
