Economics Fair Information
On Friday, students were sent home with a bright green paper that has information about our upcoming Economics Fair! Listed on the letter is your child’s group and product or good they decided to sell during the Economics Fair. I have also attached the contents of the letter below for your convenience. This project is such a fan favorite of second grade, and the kids are all SO excited to participate! Please let me know if you have any questions!
As a part of our economics and financial literacy Project Based Learning unit, second grade will hold its annual Economics Fair on May 14th.
Please find specific details of what is required of your child below.
By Tuesday, May 14th your child must:
Each child must create and bring at least 20 items to sell. During the sale, prices may be raised or lowered according to the supply and demand. Students may work with their group or independently, outside of class.
Keep in mind that students want to produce items that will attract as many consumers as possible. (For example, If 15 students are selling magnets, how will YOUR magnets stand out?) For the safety of all kids, please avoid food items.
We hope that this special event and its preparation will help our learners more fully understand the concepts of advertising, marketing, saving and spending, lending and borrowing, producing and consuming as well as supply and demand. Thank you for your support and cooperation!
