Remember to check the approved list of apps from the District before downloading anything! Not sure? Ask first!

1. BOCES OnLine Toolkit This is an excellent site from BOCES Model Schools with Quick Start videos to walk you through setting up Google Classroom and Google Meet. It also has info about building an online curriculum using ed tech tools such as Seesaw, Nearpod, WeVideo and more.

2. Great Site from Google! Teach From Home - a site for teachers. All about using Google apps to connect with students

3. Resources for teaching online This website offers help building synchronous and asynchronous lessons and ideas for structuring your day.

4. Common Sense Education Best Tools for Virtual and Distance Learning. Provides info on apps for parent/family messaging, video lesson creation, student portfolios, website creation, etc.

5. Look at the Resources page on this site for help guides and info about useful apps and programs.

6. Check out Everfi, BoClips and Discovery Education (accessible through Clever under the Staff Resources tab) . These programs have great videos and lesson plans!

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is the official platform for setting up your remote classroom instruction.

Google Classroom is a very flexible tool and there are lots and lots of great tutorials out there. Check out my Calendar for daily virtual office hours but first take a look at these videos:

Making and Sharing Videos

Screencastify is a free Chrome extension and provides a simple way to create, edit and share videos.

Go to the Chrome Web Store or Screencastify.com and click Add to Chrome. You will now be able to find it on your toolbar.

Troubleshooting: if you need to enable 3rd Party Cookies:

  1. In Google Chrome browser, at the top right, click More (3 Dots, the hotdog) and then Settings.

  2. In the Privacy and Security section, click Site settings.

  3. Select Cookies and Site Data

  4. Uncheck the box next to Block third-party cookies
