Hello everyone, and welcome to Ralph R. Smith Physical Education! Home of the Owls! I am excited to start the school year and get to know each and everyone of my students and parents.
To help our relationship I will let you know a little bit about me! I grew up in Malden-On-Hudson and graduated from Saugerties High School. I am a graduate of SUNY Cortland where I earned a Master's degree in physical education and coaching pedagogy. During my time at Cortland I was a 4 year member of their varsity wrestling program and was nominated to the Empire Conference All Academic Team.
I am the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at FDR High School! GO PRESIDENTS!
I have two awesome children, a son who is 15 months old and a daughter who is just over 3. I started my teaching career in 2008 and have taught Physical Education in NY as well as Charlotte NC.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a deep passion for fly fishing, hiking, and exploring the world. I enjoy challenges and attempt tasks that force me outside of my comfort zone. As an educator I enjoy watching students build their confidence and skills and I get excited when they implement lessons learned into real life situations later on in life.
