The 8th grade trip to Washington DC has been a long-standing tradition at HMS. I have been one of the organizers of this trip for the past 9 years. Unfortunately, our 8th graders were not able to go on the trip in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID but we have been SO happy to be able to bring our kids there again during the last couple of school years. The company we travel with is called Worldstrides (formerly Brightspark) and we've had great success traveling with them. Their insurance policy is the best of all the companies we've used or considered. If anything happens that prevents the whole group or any particular student from going after we've signed up, families will lose only a small portion of the money paid.
Tentative Important Dates:
TBD (evening) - Informational meeting (virtual) for all parents and students who are interested in this year's trip
TBD - Dates of this year's trip!
TBD - Deadline for enrollment for this year's trip
TBD - Gertrude Hawk (chocolate) fundraiser to help offset cost of trip
Messages will be sent out via Parent Square about these dates and other information. Also, a Google Classroom will be set up for the students who are interested in going.
