Kids Heart Challenge
2023 Kids Heart Challenge is complete! We beat our all time record and raised $5,444 for the American Heart Association!
What is it?
The Kids Heart Challenge program allows students to learn about about heart disease, the benefits of physical activity, and how they can help through the Kids Heart Challenge experience designed by the American Heart Association.
At the kickoff of the event each student receives a packet/fundraising envelope and a interactive Heart Heroes page. The main goals of this month long event are to inform students about the risks of heart disease and learn about prevention methods, as well as raise money for the American Heart Association. Students do not have to donate any money at all to participate in any of the activities, but there are small prizes and incentives for those who choose to.
The event will conclude with a week long celebration in PE in early February, and will include stations and events focusing on cardiovascular endurance and how to keep a healthy heart.
FAQ's
Does my child need to raise money?
No! Every student will have the opportunity to participate in all events, regardless of fundraising. All students can download the free Kids Heart Challenge App to play interactive games and learn more about their heart at home.
Does my child need to return the permission slip?
No! Since we are holding the event as part of our PE classes, the permission slip does not need to be returned.
When will my child receive their prizes for fundraising?
When the program is over in February, the smaller prizes will be delivered, and any additional ones may need to be ordered. They take around 5 weeks to be delivered to the school.
