Every student in my Algebra class has to keep an organized 1" binder. I three hole punch everything that I pass out, so we can keep everything for the end of the year review before the Regents exam. Your binder should have the following labeled sections in this order (also included is a description of each):
*The first paper in your binder should be your interactive table of contents. We write the topic, date, and page number on the paper. After that should be the homework checklist. We update this checklist daily (it is also in the above link). Then, you have the module checklist, which contains all the topics and important vocabulary you will need to know to be successful in that specific module. After these three sheets of paper, the dividers should start*
1. Notes
a. Name, date, and page number goes on every guided notes sheet.
b. All class notes must be in reverse chronological order.
2. Homework
a. Must have name and date on them
3. Quizzes/Tests
a. KEEP ALL GRADED MATERIAL! These are perfect to review from at the end of the year because you can see the areas that you struggled with for each topic.
4. Weekly Sheets
a. Weekly sheets are past regents questions. Keep them in numerical order for the entire year.
5. Review Material
a. Any material that is review for a test or quiz goes in this section.
At the end of a Module, we will clean out the Notes, Homework, and Quizzes/Tests section of our binder. All material MUST be kept to review from at the end of the year.
